OurVoyage — Privacy Policy

OurVoyage helps a group of people travelling together share a trip: an itinerary, to‑dos, expenses, documents, photos, medicines, insurance details, and optional location check‑ins. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or third‑party trackers.

Who we are

OurVoyage is a small, private group‑travel app. Contact us at brightboxglobal26@gmail.com for any privacy question or request.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a password (stored hashed).
  • Profile: your name, optional phone numbers, and an optional profile photo (saved as a stylised sketch).
  • Trip content you add: itinerary items, to‑dos, expenses, travel documents, medicines, snacks, and identity/insurance details (typed fields such as passport or policy numbers — we do not scan documents).
  • Photos & videos you upload to the group album or your private area.
  • Location: only the spot you share when you tap “check in”. We never track your location in the background.

How we use it

Your information is used solely to run the trip for you and the members of your own travel group — for example, showing your tasks, splitting expenses, and letting group members see shared photos or a check‑in you chose to post. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Who can see it

Trip content is visible only to members of that trip, enforced by database access rules. Some items are further limited: your private photos are visible only to you, and the expenses section is limited to trip admins. We do not share your data with third parties for their own purposes.

Where it is stored

Data is stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL and private file storage) and served via Vercel. It is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Files such as photos and avatars are kept in private buckets accessible only through time‑limited signed links. Your passport/ID and insurance details are additionally end‑to‑end encrypted on your device with a passphrase your group sets — we never receive the passphrase and cannot read those details without it.

Device permissions

  • Camera / Photos: only when you choose to take or pick a photo.
  • Location: only when you tap to check in.

You can decline or revoke these in your device settings at any time.

Retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account and trips are active. You can delete items you added at any time. To delete your account and associated data, email brightboxglobal26@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Children

OurVoyage is intended for adults organising a trip and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
